9/20 Kroger Prescription Transfers- $120 Worth in Items for FREE!

September 21, 2012 at 10:06 pm (Kroger, Ongoing/Current Deals, Rebates, Transactions) (, , , , , , , , )

I’m back! I sort of got out of the coupon mode for a while, but I still occasionally got a few things for a really good deal (I just didn’t post them). Lately, however, I have gotten back into couponing and taking advantage of some offers while they lasted.

While we don’t have a Kroger nearby, I still browse through their ads just to see if I can price match anything at Walmart. This week I noticed that they have deal going on until September 30th where if you transfer a prescription, you get $25 in free groceries. Our family has a few medications that we get and it turns out that it was about time to get some more refills anyway. So, I transferred 3 prescriptions to Kroger and got $75 loaded to my Kroger card! I decided to make use of my coupons to get more out of the $75. Keep in mind that Kroger doubles coupons up to $0.50. While we were waiting for the prescription to be processed, we shopped. Here’s what we got:

Finish Detergent 3.49
No coupon, but we use this stuff all the time and it was cheaper than Walmart.

McCormick Chipotle Chile Pepper 5.39 (my husband wanted to try this)
Used $1.50 off coupon= 3.89

McCormick Ancho Chile Pepper 6.29 (my husband wanted to try this)
Used $1.50 off coupon= 4.79

2 Pillsbury Toaster Strudel 1.99 each= 3.98
Used 2 $0.50 off coupons (doubled)= 1.98 for both

6 candy bars .79 each B2G1 Free= 3.16
Used 3 $0.50/2 coupons (doubled)= $0.16 for all 6!

4 Bob Evans Sausage Rolls 3.28 each= 13.12
Used 2 $1.50/2 coupons= 10.12 for 4

2 Minute Maid Apple Juice 10 pack 2.99 each= 5.98
Used 2 $0.75 off coupons= 4.58 for both

1 20 oz. Coke 1.69
Used Free Coupon from Coke Rewards= FREE!

U by Kotex Pads 4.09
Used $2 off coupon= $2.09

2 Carefree Pantiliners 1.00 each= 2.00
Used 2 $0.50 off coupons (doubled)= 2 for FREE!

Ballreich Chips 4.49
No coupon… my husband loves these!

Philadelphia Cream Cheese 2.39
Used $0.50 off coupon (doubled)= $1.39

1 Package Dog Bones 3.69
No coupon… our dog deserved a treat!

2 Loaves Wonder bread (not pictured) 1.59 each= 3.18
used 2 $1 off coupons= 1.18 for both!

10 cans Alpo Dog Food (not pictured) .67 each= 6.70
Used $1.50/10= $5.20 for all 10 or $0.52 each can

1 box Smirnoff Party Mix 13.99
No coupon… however, there is a rebate we plan on submitting for- When you buy a 12 pack or 6 packs, you get $25 rebate check on groceries! Pretty awesome deal!

Total before coupons- $83.63
Total after coupons- $60.84 + 2.32 tax= $63.16
Total after coupons and rebate= $38.16

I got $84 worth of items today and only paid $63. I still have $11.84 left to spend and I have the $25 rebate to mail off. So I still have $36.84 left to spend of the original $75. So, I technically got $120 worth of items for free!
