$8.61 Out of Pocket Spent, $9.38 in Coupons Gained= $0.77 Profit!

June 29, 2011 at 7:51 pm (CVS, Rite Aid, Transactions, Walmart)

As I was sorting through all of my coupons, I decided I would use some of them up since a lot expire soon. I ended up going to a lot of different stores, but in the end, it was worth it!

Rite Aid

Transaction #1

4 Motrin PM (raincheck from March) $3, get $1 +UP= $2 each
Used $6/2 coupon and $2 off Motrin= $8 off
Final price: 4 for FREE!
*Normally it would not work out like this. However, since Rite Aid can not print +UPs for rainchecks like CVS can, they just deduct the +UP amount from the price of the item to get the raincheck cost. If I would have been able to get this during the sale week, I would have gotten 3 boxes, used the $6/2 and the $2 off coupon, paid nothing and gotten $2 +UPs back for a profit of $3. Boo!

2 Kids Foster Grant sunglasses $6.99, Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, get $5 +UPs
Used $5 off Foster Grant video values coupon
Final price: $0.25 each!

Excedrin Migraine $1.99, get $1 +UP
Used $1 off Excedrin video values coupon
Used $1 off printable coupon
Final price: $1 moneymaker!

Oral B toothbrush $2.69, get $2.69 +UPs
Final Price: FREE!

Subtotal before coupons: $24.36
Used $3/$15 survey coupon
Used 2 $1 off Wellness coupon from video values
Paid $4.36 ($1.20 in tax), got $8.69 +UPs ($5, $1, $2.69)

Transaction #2

Zantac 150 $8.99, get $2 +UPs
Used $5 off coupon
Used $2 off Zantac from video values
Final Price: FREE!

Oral B toothbrush $2.69, get $2.69 +UPs
Final Price: FREE!
*I could have gotten Crest toothpaste instead and used the $0.75 off coupon from P&G, but I have PLENTY of toothpaste and want to stock up on toothbrushes now

Folder $0.37 (not pictured)
*This was bought to get my subtotal just over $5 before tax so I could use my $5 +UP to pay)

Used $5 +UP from transaction #1
Paid $0.89
Got $4.69 +UPs back ($2, $2.69)

Total spent for Rite Aid oop: $5.25
Total remaining +UPs: $8.38
Final: $3.13 PROFIT!!!

Gardners

2 Claussen Pickles 2/$5
Used 2 $2 off coupons
Paid $1 (no tax on food)
Got $1 catalina coupon off my next purchase back (I was so surprised because it was totally unexpected!!)
Final: FREE!

CVS

2 Pringles To Go $1 each
Used 2 $1 off coupons from Magic Coupon Machine
Final Price: FREE! (no tax on food)

Walmart

Spic n Span $0.97
Used $0.55 off coupon
Paid: $0.42

2 Nexcare Bandages $1 each
Used 2 $1 off coupons
Final Price: FREE!

BIC Comfort 3 Razor $2.97

Subtotal before coupons: $9.91
Paid $2.36

Total spent oop on everything: $8.61 on 20 items! That’s $0.43 each!
After rewards, my net total was $0.77 profit!

Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid- $3.58 for everything!

June 28, 2011 at 10:08 pm (Coupons, CVS, Rite Aid, Transactions, Walmart)

Walmart

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of things on sale at Walmart that are moneymakers (even if it is only $0.03…) so I figured I would use a lot of my extra coupons to lower the prices of other items I need. Here’s my transaction:

2 Zyrtec (5 count) $5.27 each
Used 2 $5.00 off coupons from here
$0.27 each!

2 Dove Deoderant Trial Size $0.97
Used 2 $1 off coupons from here
$0.03 money maker each!

2 KY Lubricant $2.62 each
Used 2 $3.00 off coupons from here (no longer available)
$0.38 money maker each!

Hawaiian Sweet Rolls $0.98
Used $2.00 off coupon from here (must sign up)
$1.02 money maker!

Dog Shampoo $2.97
(I got this because the store will not give money back if you have a negative balance)

Total before coupons including tax- $23.12 ($1.45 tax)
Total of coupons used- $20
Paid $3.12

So essentially, I paid $1.67 for the dog shampoo plus $1.45 for tax!

CVS

At CVS, you can scan your card at the magic coupon machine and you may get coupons for $1 off Pringles To Go. These are priced at $1, so in other words, FREE! I went yesterday and got a coupon (along with today also) so I got 2 today.

If you are a member of the Extra Care club at cvs.com, they will email  you a coupon for $3 off any purchase on your birthday! Since I just had a birthday, I got the coupon!

2 Pringles To Go $1 each
Used 2 $1 off coupons from the magic coupon machine
2 FREE!

Oral B Pulsar Toothbrush (raincheck from 2 weeks ago) $6, get $3 ECB
Used $3 off coupon – P&G 6/5
FREE!

Used my $3 birthday coupon to lower out of pocket expense
Paid $0.27, got $3 ECB!!
$2.72 money maker!

Rite Aid

2 Diet Coke 20 oz. $1.49
Used 2 $1 off coupons from here (expired)
Used $1/2 coupons from video values
Paid $0.19 (tax)

Total before coupons= $34.58
Total spent out of pocket= $3.58
Total after $3 ECB= $0.58 for everything!!!

Free Goodies!

June 20, 2011 at 10:37 pm (Coupons, Ongoing/Current Deals, Restaurant/Fastfood Deals, Samples and Free Stuff!)

Today I checked my mail and was surprised when I got lots of goodies! I’ve heard lately that if you email companies and tell them how much you like their product, they might send you coupons for free stuff! So I decided to try this out. I started with Pampers, Huggies, Gillette, and Tofts Diary (Ohio company) just to name a few. Today I was surprised to find that Tofts had responded! I found 2 coupons for FREE ice cream and a personalized note saying that they appreciated my email! My kids will be thrilled when they find out that we can have the really good and expensive ice cream! Woo hoo!

Next, a while back I signed up to be a part of Dunkin Donuts birthday club. On your birthday, they will send you a coupon for a FREE drink of choice! I never really go to Dunkin Donuts, but I think I will make an exception on the 22nd! For a list of other awesome things you can score on your birthday, go here.

Finally, I also got a sample of the new Rachel Ray dog food. As most samples, it came with a coupon good for $1.50 off their dog treats. Any ideas of where these might be sold? Haven’t really looked around…

Just a friendly reminder that if you live in the Norwalk area, Sherri’s coffee house if offering $1 drinks all day! Stop by and you can score a cheap tasty treat for yourself! 🙂
