Updated Rite Aid Coupon Policy

July 4, 2011 at 3:24 pm (Coupon Policies)

As some of you may know, Rite Aid updated their coupon policy a while back which resulted in some significant changes. However, I wanted to get this on here for any newbies that might try shopping at Rite Aid. Click here to view the new coupon policy. Here are a couple of the new changes that have been made:

Buy One Get One Free

Old Policy:We accept two coupons for the purchase of two items that are on Buy One, Get One Free Promotion. We accept a Buy One, Get One Free Coupon with an item that is in our flyer as Buy One, Get One Free, meaning both items are free.  The cash register will compute any sales tax due, which varies by state law.

New Policy: Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item. Buy One Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion. :(

Multiple Coupons

New Policy: Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.

Updated Target Coupon Policy Change

June 15, 2011 at 9:50 pm (Coupon Policies)

As most of you may already know, Target has updated their coupon policy with a couple new changes…

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):

· BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.

· A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.

· If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.

· If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons:

We gladly accept valid internet coupons that contain a clear and scannable bar code.
We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.

Mobile Coupons:

· Guests can receive Target Mobile Coupons by signing up for Text Alerts at Target.com/mobile or by texting COUPONS to 827438 (TARGET).
· Message and data rates may apply. See site for full details.
· To redeem, simply show your coupon barcode to the cashier. With one simple scan, all applicable coupons are applied.

So, the new wording regarding the BOGO coupons being combined is a given for most of us… however, I am guessing that due to all the new couponers from Extreme Couponing they felt the need to put this wording in their coupon policy. Also, as you can see, you will no longer be able to use 2 Target store coupons with a manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. I previously posted scenarios like this and will not be doing so anymore. And one other new change is that they will no longer accept internet coupons for free items. I can understand this change as there are so many issues with fraudulent free product coupons being distributed online. Hopefully, though, manufacturers are aware of this and will stop issuing free product coupons online and instead opt to send them out in the mail.

Store Coupon Policies

February 28, 2011 at 2:01 am (Coupon Policies, Getting Started, Tips)

I have had a few questions regarding store policies on coupons and how to “stack” coupons. One helpful thing that I have learned (because not all employees are trained to the store’s policy) is to print off the store’s coupon policy and take it with you when you shop. This may help in “winning” any arguements over whether or not you can use a coupon(s) on a selected product. Just select a store to view it’s coupon policy.
